APPLICATION Long term protection by hot dip application particularly where high resistance to creep at high temperatures is required. It is suitable for use in steel cored aluminium conductor cables which have a life span of approximately 20 years and subject to all weather conditions. Application can be achieved by immersing the components into Castrol Rustilo 431 at a temperature of 140ºC or by cold smearing. Recommended film thickness 0.5mm. * *Protection* Indoors: 18 months Outdoors: where used to meet CEGB Std 993106 - approx 20 years Other Applications: 6 months * *Removal* If necessary, Castrol Rustilo 431 can be removed using petroleum solvents, suitable alkaline cleaners, or vapour degreasants, also available from Castrol * *Handling Precautions* The wearing of impervious material aprons (PVC or other suitable material) rubber gloves and goggles is recommended. In case of Fire, foam, CO_2 or dry powder extinguishers should be used.
