Castrol Rustilo DWX 22 rapidly removes water from machined surfaces, allowing the powerful rust inhibitors to provide maximum protection. The residual film has good mechanical strength which allows treated components to be handled without damaging its protective qualities. As a result, Rustilo DWX 22 can be considered a good general purpose rust preventive for a variety of applications in machine shops and throughout heavy machinery manufacture. Although Rustilo DWX 22 can be applied by brushing or spraying, its dewatering action is most effective if the articles to be protected can be immersed in a dip tank. Removal of the protective film is best effected by Castrol aqueous or solvent based cleaners.
