It also has applications in other fields where ease of application is important. Rustilo 914 is a soft grease type product manufactured from highly refined mineral oil. The product does not have a definite melting point, and if exposed to prolonged heat (greater than 80ºC) it will actually stiffen slightly thereby reducing the risk of leakage from the cable. Rustilo 914 has superb low temperature performance. It remains flexible down to -50º without any tendency to flake or crack. The tendency for oil to separate from a grease structure is often a problem. With Rustilo 914 this has been reduced. In prolonged corrosion tests, Rustilo 914 has been shown to be superior to other products designed for similar application.
